A lesser known fact about BEMPHS is worth mentioning here.
In the entire history of Indian Parliament, only one high school has the rare distinction of having had four of its alumni as members of the same Lok Sabha. The Basel Evangelical Mission Parsi School is the proud holder of this distinction. These members were K. Kelappan, A. K. Gopalan, Anandan Nambiar and Nettur. P. Damodaran, who were students of the BEMP High School, Thalassery at different periods, but won their election from different parts of Madras State in 1952.
A plan to unveil the photographs of these four Members of the Lok Sabha was announced during the meeting. These photos were unveiled later by Sri. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, then Home Minister, Kerala State, who was also the local MLA, during the Inaugural function of the Smart Class Room Scheme held at the school on 19 August 2013.
