The house where NetturP grew up was located in the Illikkunnu Village, and was named “Pranam”.
After the passing away of their parents, NetturP’s children, even though they were living in other places, decided to reconstruct the ancestral house with the same architectural features and to retain it as a monument to their elders.
So, the new structure, also named “Pranam” looks very similar to the old one. In the large entrance hall, photographs and other memorabilia of the parents are displayed for the benefit of the visitors. Apartments adjoining the common areas facilitate stay of various families who might visit Pranam for special functions or for occasional visits.
In a society and era when ancestral properties are broken up, partitioned and mostly sold off at the passing of each generation, the noble gesture by the children of NetturP to retain “Pranam” perpetually as a common asset in memory of their parents and grandparents was widely appreciated and admired by well wishers and the public. Many persons visited Pranam, studied the arrangements and expressed their desire to emulate this example in their families also. An appreciative feature was published by the leading Malayalam Daily, “Mathrubhumi”
